May 29, 2025

Criminal Threats – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Burbank Airport regarding a criminal threats report call for service.  Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the Metro Bus operator (victim), who reported that she had picked up an adult male (suspect) at the Universal Studios bus layover.  The victim stated the suspect attempted to engage her in conversation, but she ignored him.   The victim further stated as he was exiting the bus, the suspect said, “That’s why I hate black people.” Once the suspect exited the bus at the above location, he stated, “I’m going to kill you”.   The victim said she did not think much of the incident until she returned to the yard, at which point she informed her supervisor, who advised her to file a police report.

Grand Theft – No Suspect information

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to 92nd Street and Graham Avenue, in the city of Los Angeles regarding a grand theft call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the Metro Supervisor, who stated that an unknown person had stolen approximately 70 feet of copper wire. There was no description of a suspect. The supervisor estimated the cost of replacing the copper wire to be $6,000. The suspect is still outstanding.

Child Endangerment – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB)Deputies responded to the Willowbrook/Rosa Parks Metro Passenger Station regarding an assault between a mother and daughter call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted a juvenile female (victim) and an adult female (suspect) on the Metro green line. During their investigation it was determined the suspect violently assaulted and threatened the victim. Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) was notified and responded. The suspect was arrested.

Grand Theft – No Suspect information

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Manville Street and Willowbrook Avenue in the city of Compton regarding a grand theft call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the Metro Supervisor, who stated that unknown persons had stolen approximately 35 feet of copper wire. There was no description of the suspect. The supervisor estimated the cost of replacing the copper wire to be $300. The suspect is still outstanding.

May 26, 2025

Battery – Suspect Arrested

Transit Service Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the Atlantic Metro Passenger Station regarding a Metro Security Officer detaining a battery suspect call for service. Upon the Deputy’s arrival, the Metro contract Security Guard (Allied) was detaining a male adult (suspect). Security informed Deputies that the suspect had been escorted off the train earlier and had returned to the station without tapping.

The security guard contacted the suspect, and during the interaction, the suspect spat at the security guard. During the detention, the suspect sustained an injury to his hand. Los Angeles County Fire evaluated both the suspect and the victim. The suspect was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation and was cited for battery.

Assault with A Deadly Weapon – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Service Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the Fillmore Metro Passenger Station regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted an adult male (victim) who stated while waiting for the train, the victim was approached by an adult male (suspect) who asked him for a cigarette. The victim told the suspect he did not have a cigarette, at which time the suspect produced a knife and demanded a cigarette. The victim stated again he did not have a cigarette.  The suspect told the victim not to get on the train or he would hurt him.  The victim, fearing for his safety, left the platform.  The suspect was last seen heading west and out of view. Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.  The victim was not injured and refused medical treatment.

May 23, 2025

Battery – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the Westchester/Veterans Metro Passenger Station regarding a battery just occurred call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted a Metro Security Officer, who was detaining an adult female (suspect) for battery. Metro Security told Deputies that the suspect had been yelling racial slurs at him. Metro Security asked the suspect to exit the train and platform at which time the suspect punched Metro Security in the chest and spat on him. The suspect was detained pending the arrival of the Deputy.

During the Deputy’s preliminary investigation, they observed the Security Officer using CCTV footage to grab the suspect by the throat several times. The Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived on the scene and observed the suspect with redness and scratches to the neck/throat area. The suspect was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation. The suspect was arrested.

May 22, 2025

Grand Theft – No Suspect information

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the Metro Division 22 regarding a grand theft call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the Metro Supervisor, who stated they received a false occupancy alarm at the referenced location at 2320 hours.   The supervisor said they checked the area at 2330 hours and discovered 120 feet of copper wire was missing just outside the entrance to the rail yard. There was no description of a suspect. The supervisor was unable to give an estimated cost for the repairs. The suspect is still outstanding.

Battery – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Compton Metro Passenger Station regarding a battery call for service. Upon arrival, deputies contacted Metro contract security guards, who stated they saw two adult males (suspects 1 & 2) punching each other on the platform.  One of the Metro contract security guards said he broke up the fight by pepper spraying the suspects.  The suspects fled the scene; one boarded a southbound train, and one fled southbound on foot. It is unknown if either suspect was injured during the incident or what caused the physical altercation.  Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects.  After watching CCTV footage of the incident, a battery report was written. 

Person Unresponsive – Narcan Used (LAFD)

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Irwindale Metro Passenger Station regarding an adult male who was unresponsive on the platform call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted Los Angeles County Fire, who was working on an unresponsive male on the platform. Personnel from the fire department administered successful Narcan. The male regained consciousness and was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.
