The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) is committed to serving all residents of Los Angeles County with professionalism, dignity, and respect. We recognize that meaningful community engagement and effective public safety are strengthened when every individual feels valued and treated fairly.

LASD celebrates the diversity of its workforce and the communities it serves. We strive to foster an inclusive environment where all individuals, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression, are welcomed and respected.

To support this commitment, LASD has designated LGBTQ+ community liaisons who serve as a resource for community members, provide outreach and engagement opportunities, and help strengthen communication between LASD and the LGBTQ+ community. You may contact the LGBTQ+ community liaisons directly at: [email protected].

LGBT Community Liaison Program Training

The three-day training, held in Palm Springs, California, brought together LGBTQ+ liaisons and law enforcement professionals from agencies throughout the country to share best practices, exchange experiences, and strengthen relationships with the communities they serve. Training topics included LGBTQ+ awareness, developing and sustaining LGBTQ+ liaison programs, and hate crimes investigations.

Participation in this program further enhances the Department’s efforts to build trust, strengthen community partnerships, and promote meaningful engagement with LGBTQ+ communities throughout Los Angeles County.
