Press Pass Portal
A LASD Press Pass ID allows Media organizations physical access to locations generally closed off to the general public due to safety concerns.
Organization Prerequisites
- Organization must regularly provide police/fire news coverage to the general public and have a valid business license
- Provide LASD with correspondence on official business letterhead describing their publication and justification for press passes
- Designate coordinator or contact person to facilitate press pass applicants.
Application Process
New Applicant
- Complete a new application form
- Provide a passport-style photo with application – See examples of acceptable photos
- Provide a copy of government issued identification w/ photo (State issued Drivers License, Passport, Passport card, etc.)
- Provide a copy of business license
- Complete a LiveScan application w/ approved vendor
- Submit 2 (two) recent publications pertaining to law enforcement/fire stories
Renewal
- Complete a renewal application form
- Provide a passport-style photo with application
- Provide most recent Business License
- Submit 2 (two) recent publications pertaining to law enforcement/fire stories
- Provide a copy of government issued identification with photo
Application Followup
Once an application has been submitted using our electronic application form, the applicant will be issued an application tracking number.
Applicants may check on the status of their application by submitting their tracking number into the application query tool
