Traffic Collision – Bus Vs. Vehicle
Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Long Beach Blvd and Rosecrans Ave., in the city of Compton, regarding an MTA bus vs. vehicle traffic collision on Long Beach Blvd at Rosecrans Ave when it collided with a white Chevrolet Blazer. Compton Fire responded. No injuries were reported on the bus or by the other party involved. The bus and the other vehicle sustained minor damage. Compton Sheriff’s Station will investigate the traffic collision.

Sexual Assault – Suspect Outstanding
Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the El Monte Bus Terminal regarding a sexual assault call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted a Juvenile female (victim), who said while she was waiting at the lower level of the bus terminal when she was approached by an adult male (suspect) who exposed his penis to the victim at the bus bay. The victim boarded the bus, which the suspect followed. While the bus was in transit, the suspect then grabbed and touched the victim on her left buttock area. The victim was able to flee from the suspect and move toward the front of the bus. The suspect exited the bus on the first stop from the terminal and fled in an unknown direction. The victim went back to school and reported the incident to school officials. The suspect is still outstanding.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon (ADW) – Suspect Outstanding
Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the Willowbrook Passenger Station regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted an adult female (victim) who stated she was walking and was attacked by four males (suspects) from behind. The victim said during the assault, she was hit with an unknown object. The victim sustained swelling to her left forearm and the left side of her head. The Los Angeles County Fire Paramedics provided medical treatment to the victim. The victim refused to be transported to the hospital. The suspects were not located.

Grand Theft (Copper Wire) – Suspect Outstanding
Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the Culver City Metro Passenger Station regarding a see-the-man report call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the Metro Supervisor, who stated that an unknown suspect entered the location and stole 80 feet of copper wire. The suspects cut the copper wire from the right-of-way track area and fled the location. The damages and repairs were estimated at $12,000. The suspect is still outstanding.
Assault with a Deadly Weapon (ADW) – Suspect Arrested
Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the Willowbrook Passenger Station regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies were able to locate and detain an adult male (suspect) at the Kenneth Hahn Plaza just south of the passenger station. Deputies utilizing Close Circuit Television (CCTV) were able to see the incident take place. Due to the victim (an adult male) leaving the location in an unknown direction. CCTV provided a play-by-play of the suspect involved in a fight with the victim and, without provocation, swinging a metal screwdriver at the victim, stabbing the victim on his upper body. The suspect was arrested for the assault with a deadly weapon.

Assault Likely to Produce Great Bodily Injury (GBI) – Suspect Arrested
Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Compton Ave and Gage Ave., in the city of Los Angeles, regarding an adult male (victim) bleeding from the face. Upon arrival, deputies contacted the victim, who stated while on the bus, an adult male (suspect) began a verbal altercation with him because the suspect believed the victim was talking about him in Spanish with another passenger. The suspect confronted the victim and began punching him in the face with both fists. The victim fell to the floor, where the suspect continued to punch the victim, then grabbed him by the neck and began choking him. Once the bus came to a stop, the suspect fled the scene. The victim did not lose consciousness.
Assisting units canvassed the area, and with the assistance of Aero, the suspect was located a short distance away. The suspect was positively identified by witnesses on board the bus at the time of the incident. The victim sustained significant facial trauma and was treated on scene by Los Angeles County Fire. The victim was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation and treatment. The suspect was arrested for the assault.
Grand Theft (Cell Phone) – Suspect Outstanding
Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the Florence Ave and Santa Fe Ave., in the city of Huntington Park, regarding a phone snatch. Upon arrival, deputies contacted a female adult (victim) who told them she had her cell phone resting in her hand while riding the bus. As the bus came to a stop, an adult male (suspect) snatched her cell phone out of her hand and ran off the bus. The suspect was last seen heading southbound from the location and out of view. Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. The victim was not injured and declined medical treatment. The suspect is still outstanding.

Battery on Metro Security Officer – Suspect Arrested
Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the Downtown Santa Monica Metro Passenger Station regarding an assault on Metro Security call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the Metro Security Officer (victim), who stated they contacted an adult male (suspect) on the train regarding his failure to have a valid fare ticket to board the train. During their contact with the suspect, the suspect became angry and took a fighting stance. The victim and his partner told the suspect to exit the train, but the suspect refused. As the victim and his partner attempted to escort the suspect off the train, the suspect swung his fists toward the victim, at which time a struggle ensued, causing them to fall to the ground. The victim and his partner were able to subdue the suspect and placed him in handcuffs. During the struggle, the victim sustained abrasions to his right wrist and arm. However, he declined medical attention. The victim was desirous of prosecution and signed a Private Person’s (Citizen’s) Arrest form. The suspect was placed under arrest for the assault.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Hands) – Suspects Arrested
While conducting a patrol check of Willowbrook Metro Passenger Station, Deputies heard several people yelling on the platform. Deputies responded to the platform and discovered while walking down the steps from the C Line to the A Line, four juveniles were being loud, boisterous, and pretending to fight. Deputies contacted an adult male (victim) who stated he thought they were physically fighting and approached them and became involved in a verbal altercation. Without warning, subject #1 punched the victim in the face, knocking him to the ground. subject #1 then stood over the victim and punched him numerous times in the face. subject #2 then punched the victim 2-3 times in the face.
The victim’s friend attempted to pull the juveniles off her friend, and the victim was able to stand up. subject #1 then pushed the victim onto the tracks. Fearing the subjects would continue to assault the victim, the female (the victim’s friend) produced a knife and ordered the subjects to leave the victim alone. Deputies detained all parties and subsequently arrested subjects #1 and #2 for the indicated charge. The victim sustained bruising on his face, several abrasions on his arms, and a possible fractured wrist. Los Angeles County Fire responded and treated the victim on scene. The victim refused further medical attention. The subjects were arrested.
