De-Escalation Training Held for Foothill Transit Bus Operators
Transit Mental Evaluation Team (TMET) Deputies provided several Foothill Transit operators with de-escalation training that covered a variety of mental health topics. The purpose of the training was to provide Foothill Transit operators with the opportunity to learn about the challenges of encountering individuals experiencing mental health crises on Foothill Transit buses, how to deescalate any issues, and who to contact in a classroom setting. Due to the success of the course, TMET Deputies will continue the training and offer it to an additional 600 contracted Foothill Transit personnel with the intent to offer it to Metro train and bus operators in the near future.
