February 20, 2025

Battery on MTA Contracted Security (Hands) – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the Sierra Madre Metro Passenger Station regarding an assault on Allied Universal Security Personnel.  Upon arrival, Deputies contacted security personnel (victim), who stated they contacted an adult male (S/1) on the westbound train. During the contact, S/1 yelled at the victim and rushed at the victim, followed by another adult male (S/2) rushing the victim.   Fearing being assaulted by S1 & S2, the victim pepper sprayed the suspects.  The victim subsequently took hold of one of the suspects, pulled him off the train, and handcuffed him.  During the detention, one of the suspects spat at the victim several times.  The victim was adamant about an arrest.  The suspects were arrested.

Grand Theft (Copper Wire) – No Suspect information

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to 92nd Street & Graham Avenue in the city of Los Angeles regarding a grand theft call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the Metro Supervisor, who stated that an unknown person had cut and stolen copper wire. The damage and repairs were estimated at 2,000.00.

Possible Assault with a Deadly weapon – Suspect Unknow

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Lake Metro Passenger Station regarding a possible assault with a deadly weapon call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the train operator (informant), who stated an unknown male (victim) approached him and stated that he had been stabbed on the train by unknown persons (possible suspect). The victim was unable to provide any additional information about the incident. The victim was last seen exiting the platform at Lake Metro Passenger Station. Deputies checked CCTV and searched the area but could not locate the incident, victim, or suspect.

Traffic Collision- One Injured

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Orr and Day Road & Telegraph Road in the city of Whittier regarding a traffic collision call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the MTA Bus Operator (victim), who stated the bus was traveling westbound on Telegraph Road when it was rear-ended by a work truck, causing minor damage to the bus.  One bus passenger was transported to a local hospital via ambulance for non-life-threatening injuries. Whitter Police Department will investigate the traffic collision.

Battery on MTA Bus Operator (Hands) – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Tamcliff Avenue and Victornia Street in the city of Carson regarding a battery on an MTA Bus Operator. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the Bus Operator (victim), who stated an adult male (suspect) became irate after being told to exit the bus. The suspect punched the operator in the chest and then took a seat at the back of the bus. Deputies boarded the train and took the suspect into custody without further incident. The operator was not injured and refused medical attention on scene.

Grand Theft (Copper Wire) – No Suspect information

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to 119th Street and Willowbrook Avenue in the city of Los Angeles regarding a grand theft call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the Metro Supervisor, who stated that an unknown person had cut and stolen 24 feet of copper wire. The damage and repairs were estimated at 1,200.00.
