Battery on MTA Bus Operator – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) deputies responded to Admiralty Way / Mindanao Way in the city of Marina Del Rey regarding an assault on a Metro Transit Bus operator call for service. While on patrol, Marina Del Ray (MDR) Deputies were flagged down at the location by the MTA bus operator (victim) who had just been assaulted on the bus. MDR Deputies contacted TSB station and TSB Deputies were dispatched. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the victim, who stated that an adult male (suspect) was being loud and unruly on the bus and was asked to exit. The suspect became upset and, without provocation, punched the victim on the right side of the face. The suspect then exited the bus and the victim followed. The operator was able to flag down a passing Sheriff’s patrol car. The suspect was detained after a short foot pursuit with Marina Del Rey deputies and the suspect was successfully arrested without further incident. The victim refused to be transported to the Hospital.

Grand Theft (Copper Wire) – Suspect Arrested

While conducting a Copper Wire Theft Operation on the Metro A Line, TSB’s South Special Assignment Unit (SAU) observed an adult male (suspect) on the tracks near the Manville Crossing. Deputies contacted and detained the suspect regarding trespassing on Metro property. During the contact the suspect was found to be in possession of large amounts of copper wire.  The suspect was arrested.
