December 12, 2024

Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Carson Street/110 Freeway Metro Passenger Station regarding family disturbance call for service.  Upon arrival, the victim was uncooperative with the deputies and the suspect was detained pending a domestic violence investigation.  During their investigation, the determined the male (suspect) assaulted his girlfriend (victim), who had visible injuries to her face and around her neck.  The victim refused medical treatment on scene and refused to be transported to the hospital.  The suspect was arrested.

Robbery (Strong Arm) – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to 17th Street Passenger Station, regarding Santa Monica Police Department detaining a robbery suspect.  The deputies contacted the victim, who told them he was on the platform when a male adult (suspect) walked up to him and forcefully grabbed his sunglasses from his face and fled the location on foot.  The victim stated he followed the suspect and called the police.  Santa Monica Police Department responded and were able to locate the suspect.  The suspect was detained without further incident.  The victim complained of pain to is nose and forehead but refused medical treatment.  The suspect was arrested.

Battery on MTA Contracted Security – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the Norwalk C Line Passenger Station regarding a battery call for service.  The deputies contacted the Metro Contract Security Officer (victim), who stated she attempted to detain and handcuff a male adult (suspect) who she observed defecating in public.  The victim stated as she tried to handcuff the suspect, he kicked her in the right leg and punched her in the face.  The victim sustained a small laceration above her right eye.  The victim complained of pain but refused medical treatment.  The suspect was arrested.

Assault with A Deadly Weapon – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Ronald Reagan UCLA Hospital regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call just occurred.  Deputies contacted both the victim and witness (Bus Operator).  The witness told the deputy he was travelling westbound on Santa Monica Boulevard on the bus, at approximately 0300-0330 hours when he saw the victim and the suspect get into a physical altercation on the bus.  When the bus arrived at Santa Monica Boulevard and Lincoln Boulevard, the suspect took the victim off the bus and placed the victim onto the sidewalk.  The suspect reboarded the bus and continued westbound.  The suspect exited the bus at the 4th Street and Santa Monica Boulevard layover and walked out of view.  The victim was not able to provide any statements due to the extent of his injuries.  Santa Monica Fire Department personnel responded and treated the victim for lacerations to his forehead and lip.  The victim was transported to the hospital for further medical treatment and pre-existing medical condition.  An incident report was authored.

Criminal Threats/ Assault with A Deadly Weapon – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the Willowbrook Metro Passenger Station regarding criminal threats call for service.  The deputies contacted the victim who stated he and the suspect were involved in an argument about who would be the first person to exit the train at Willowbrook Metro station.  When the train stopped at the station, both parties began pushing and shoving each other.  They eventually exited the train and continued arguing on the platform. During the argument, the suspect produced a knife and stated, “I will kill you” to the victim. The victim began walking away from the suspect, but the suspect followed the victim on foot while holding the knife in his hand.  Fearing the suspect will harm him, the victim walked downstairs and flagged down deputies.  The suspect went upstairs and boarded another train.  The victim did not sustain any injuries because of this incident.  Responding deputies checked the area, but they were unable to locate the suspect.  An incident report was authored.

Grand Theft – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to1600 South California Avenue, Monrovia, Division 24, regarding a grand theft call for service.  The deputies contacted the victim (MTA) who stated, while conducting the monthly inspection of the fire hydrant around Division 24 at the Monrovia train yard, 6 valves were discovered missing.  Each missing valve measures approximately one inch in diameter and 24 inches in length.  It is unknown when the valves were stolen, but they were discovered missing today.  The estimated replacement cost for all the stolen valves as provided by the servicing company (Link-Nilsen Corporation) is approximately $40,800.  An incident report was authored.

Battery on MTA Contract Security – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) deputies responded to Marine Passenger Station regarding a battery call for service.  The deputies contacted Metro Security (victim) who stated the observed drinking an alcoholic beverage on the platform.  When the officers approached the suspect, he appeared to be intoxicated. The officers asked the suspect to leave the platform, but he refused. The suspect threw the empty bottle of the alcoholic beverage on the train tracks and attempted to board the train.  When the security officers attempted to escort the suspect of the train, he began yelling profanities at them and he slapped the victim in the face.  The victim (Metro Contract Security Officer) grabbed the suspect and conducted a takedown.  The suspect continued struggling the victim on the ground.  The victim then pepper sprayed the suspect in the face. Other security officers assisted the victim to subdue the suspect.  Paramedics responded and treated the victim for his exposure to OC Spray.  The victim did not sustain any injuries, and he refused to be evaluated by the paramedics.  The suspect was arrested.
