Traffic Collision Train Vs. Vehicle – Minor Injuries

The Transit Services Bureau (TSB) desk received a call from the Southland Transit Bus Operations Center (STBOC) regarding a traffic collision call for service. Upon the Deputy’s arrival, Temple Sheriff Deputies were already on scene. Temple Sheriff’s stated the accident between the bus and train resulted from a bus traveling northbound on Rosemead Boulevard that rear-ended a stopped truck in the number 3 lane just north of Rush Street. Numerous injuries were reported; 7 patrons complained of back/neck pain and were transported to local hospitals. One patron was transported with critical injuries to another local hospital. Temple Sheriff’s Station will investigate the traffic collision.

Traffic Collision Train Vs. Vehicle – No Injuries

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to 3rd Street & Rowan Avenue in the city of East Los Angeles regarding a vehicle vs Metro Transit Authority (MTA) train collision. Upon arrival, deputies contacted the train operator, who stated the train was going eastbound on the E-line when a vehicle failed to stop at the red traffic light and proceeded into the train’s path, causing a traffic collision. No injuries were reported by the train operator, driver of the vehicle, or patrons on the train. The vehicle sustained minor damage. Los Angeles County Fire responded. California Highway Patrol will investigate the traffic collision. 

Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Suspects Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Willowbrook Metro Passenger station regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted an adult male, who stated numerous patrons (two male adults and four female adults) were involved in a fight on the Compton platform. The Victim sustained a laceration to his wrist from an unknown object. The Victim was treated on-scene for non-life-threatening injuries by Compton Fire and refused further treatment or transportation.  The Victim was uncooperative with personnel during the investigation.  All other suspects/victims were gone before the Deputy’s arrival.  A search of the surrounding area for additional victims was met with negative results. 

Assault (Hands and Fist) – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Vermont Metro Passenger station regarding a train vs pedestrian call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted an adult male (Victim) who stated that while on the platform, he was punched in the face by an adult male (suspect) and lost consciousness.  The Victim appeared confused and disoriented, and he was unable to provide any additional information regarding the incident. Los Angeles County Fire (LACF) responded and transported the Victim to a local hospital, where he was treated for his injuries. The Victim sustained an approximate ¼-inch laceration to his nose and forehead. A search of the area for the suspect met with negative results.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Courtesy Report

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Wardlow Metro Passenger station regarding a medical call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted Long Beach Fire, who stated they received a call for an unresponsive adult male (Victim) on the train bleeding from the head. The Victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated for his injuries. After speaking with the Victim, the Deputies were able to ascertain that the Victim was involved in an incident earlier in the day at Rampart Boulevard and Beverly Boulevard in the city of Los Angeles. It did not appear that the incident occurred on the transit system.

Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Carson Street/110 Freeway Metro Passenger Station regarding a family disturbance call for service.  Upon arrival, the Victim was uncooperative with the deputies, and the suspect was detained pending a domestic violence investigation.  During their investigation, they determined the male (suspect) assaulted his girlfriend (Victim), who had visible injuries to her face and around her neck.  The Victim refused medical treatment on scene and refused to be transported to the hospital.  The suspect was arrested.

Robbery (Strong Arm) – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to 17th Street Passenger Station, regarding Santa Monica Police Department detaining a robbery suspect.  The deputies contacted the Victim, who told them he was on the platform when a male adult (suspect) walked up to him and forcefully grabbed his sunglasses from his face and fled the location on foot.  The Victim stated he followed the suspect and called the police.  Santa Monica Police Department responded and were able to locate the suspect.  The suspect was detained without further incident.  The Victim complained of pain to is nose and forehead but refused medical treatment.  The suspect was arrested.
