Attempt Grand Theft – Suspect Arrested
Transit Services Bureau (TSB) deputies responded to 119th Street/Willowbrook Avenue (A Line grade crossing) regarding two adult males (suspect 1 &2) trespassing on the tracks and possibly stealing copper wire. Upon arrival, Deputies detained both suspects pending a Grand Theft (copper wire) investigation. Their investigation revealed both suspects had partially cut two sections of copper wire cable with a saw at the location. The cable was not removed; however, it was damaged and has to be replaced. The Metro Supervisor arrived on the scene and estimated the damage replacement cost of the copper wire to be $1,500. Both suspects were arrested.

Robbery (Strong Arm) – Suspects Outstanding
Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies were flagged down at Long Beach Metro Passenger station regarding a robbery that just occurred. Deputies contacted an adult male (victim) who stated that upon arriving at the Long Beach Metro Passenger Station, he was approached by an adult male (suspect) who forcefully snatched his cell phone from his hand. The suspect ran off the train and westbound on the platform, which the victim took chased and confronted the suspect on the platform. The suspect pushed the victim off the platform and onto the westbound tracks. The suspect fled down the stairs and out of view. Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. The victim was not injured during the altercation. The suspect is outstanding.
Copper Theft – Suspects Arrested
Transit Services Bureau (TSB) deputies responded to Avalon Metro Passenger station regarding a grand theft now (Copper Wire) call for service assisting LAPD. Upon arrival, deputies approached an adult male (suspect #1) on the platform who matched the description in the call. Once suspect #1 observed the deputies on the platform, he ran downstairs and southbound on Avalon Boulevard toward 118TH Street. Responding Deputies initiated a foot pursuit of a grand theft suspect via their handheld radio. Assisting units detained suspect #1 shortly after reaching the street level.
Additional units detained a second adult male (suspect #2) who had removed his black hoodie, threw it in a trash bin, and remained on the platform. Both suspects were arrested without further incident.

Battery – Suspect Cited and Released
Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Willowbrook Metro Passenger station regarding a disturbance call for service. Upon arrival, deputies contacted the Metro Security Officer (suspect), who stated that an adult male (victim) transferring from the blue to the green line attempted to enter the station through the emergency exit on the mezzanine level without tapping his Tap card. A short verbal argument ensued between the suspect and the victim. The victim eventually tapped his card. As the victim pushed a stroller with the kids and pasted the turnstile, he smacked a cup placed on the turnstile in anger. The suspect closed the distance on the victim and sprayed the victim with OC Spray. Based on the investigation, Deputies cited the suspect for battery and released him in the field.
Domestic Violence – Suspect Outstanding
Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the South Pasadena Metro Passenger station regarding a Domestic Violence call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted an adult female (victim) who stated she was involved in an argument with her boyfriend, an adult male (suspect), which became physical. The victim sustained a bloody nose and soreness in her right finger. The suspect exited the platform and fled southbound of the location and out of view. Deputies conducted a check of the area, but they could not locate the suspect. South Pasadena Fire Department responded to the location and treated the victim for her injury. The victim refused to be transported. The suspect is still outstanding.

Attempt to take a firearm from Metro Security/ Assault / Trespassing – Suspect Arrested
While conducting a patrol check of the Downtown Santa Monica Metro Passenger station, Deputies were flagged down by a Metro Security Officer who stated he and his partners were detaining an adult male (suspect) for refusing to leave the train when ordered. Metro Security added the suspect also attempted to pull one of the Metro Security Officers’ firearms from its holster and bite the Metro Security Officers several times while being detained. Deputies arrested the suspect. The victims were not injured and did not require any medical attention.

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies were flagged down at Willowbrook Metro Passenger Station regarding a robbery at Hawthorne Metro Passenger Station. The adult female (victim) stated she was seated on the southeast side of Hawthorne Passenger Station waiting for an eastbound train to arrive when she noticed two adult males (Suspects 1 & 2) approaching her wearing ski masks and black hoodie sweaters. The suspects approached the victim and demanded all her belongings. The victim took a step back from the suspects, at which time the suspects grabbed her purse from her hands and ran upstairs (to the station’s street level) and out of view. The victim boarded the train and exited at Willowbrook when she saw the Deputies. The victim was not injured and denied any medical attention. Deputies searched for the suspects, but they were not located.

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Firestone Metro Passenger station regarding a robbery that just occurred call for service. Upon arrival, deputies contacted an adult male (victim) in a wheelchair who stated he was on the platform when an adult male (suspect) approached him wearing a black ski mask, and all black and forcefully stole his tablet and knocked him out of his wheelchair. The suspect ran down the stairs and out of view. Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. Los Angeles County Fire Department responded; however, the victim was not injured and denied any medical attention. The suspect is still outstanding.

Robbery / Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested
Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Willowbrook Metro Passenger station regarding a robbery / Domestic Violence call for service. Upon arrival, deputies contacted an adult female (victim) who stated that she and an adult male were arguing while riding the escalator from the Blue Line up to the mezzanine level when the suspect punched the victim twice in the face. The suspect then dragged the victim from the escalator the rest of the way up to the mezzanine level turnstiles. The victim was able to pull away and headed back to the escalator to retrieve her bicycle and belongings. The suspect followed her, grabbed her and her belongings, dragged her back to the center of the mezzanine level, and continued to assault her. The suspect then left the area with the victim’s belongings. The suspect was later detained by responding Deputies while trying to leave Metro property. LA County Fire responded and transported the victim to a local hospital for further evaluation.

Battery on an MTA Bus Operator – Suspect Outstanding
Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to 4th Street and Santa Monica Boulevard in the city of Santa Monica regarding a battery call for service. Upon arrival, deputies contacted an adult male (victim) who stated that while helping a passenger in a wheelchair exit the bus, an adult female (suspect) became agitated and started yelling at the victim and, for unknown reasons, pushed the victim in the stomach. The suspect then exited the bus and told the victim if I see you again, I’m going to hurt you. The victim stated he feared for his safety because the suspect was a regular and had previously caused problems. The victim was not injured during the altercation. The suspect is still outstanding.
