October 23, 2024

Train vs Vehicle

TSB deputies responded to Colorado Avenue and 14th Street in the City of Santa Monica regarding a train versus vehicle call for service. Deputies contacted the train operator, who stated a white vehicle (NFD) made a left turn from Colorado Avenue to 17th Street in front of the train, causing a collision. After the train and the vehicle collided, the vehicle became disabled and remained at the location. The train had numerous passengers onboard who, at the time of this incident, did not complain of pain or injury. The train was moved to 17th Street Passenger Station where the patrons were offloaded and boarded a serviceable train. Santa Monica Police Department responded to complete the traffic investigation.

Grand Theft – Suspect Outstanding

TSB Deputies responded to Florence Metro Passenger Station regarding a Grand theft person’s call for service. Deputies arrived and contacted a male adult (victim) who stated he was sitting on a northbound train when he was approached by four male juveniles (suspects).  One of the suspects pointed at the victim’s gold chain around his neck. The suspect then stated he would take it.  Another suspect continued to hold the train doors open, allowing the first suspect to snatch the victim’s chain and let all four suspects exit the train.  The victim stated he was not hurt. Suspects are still outstanding.

Robbery – Suspect Outstanding

While TSB Deputies conducted a patrol check of the Willowbrook Metro Passenger station platform, they were ‘flagged down’ by a female adult (victim). The victim told the deputies she was waiting on the platform when a female adult (suspect) approached her and forcefully grabbed her cell phone from her hands. The suspect fled in an unknown direction and out of view. The victim stated she was hit in the head during the incident. Los Angeles County Fire responded and conducted an evaluation of the victim. The victim was evaluated and medically cleared.  The suspect is still outstanding.

Assault with a deadly weapon – Suspect Arrested

TSB Deputies responded to Firestone Metro Passenger Station regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call for service. Deputies arrived and contacted both male adults (victim and suspect).  The victim told deputies he was on a northbound Metro Blue Line train when he and the suspect got into a physical altercation.  Upon the train arriving at Firestone Metro Passenger Station, the victim exited the train, at which time the suspect followed him off the train and cut him with a knife.  The victim sustained a laceration on his abdomen.  LA CO Fire responded and treated the victim for a superficial wound to his abdomen. The suspect was arrested.

Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested

TSB Deputies responded to Long Beach Metro Passenger Station regarding a domestic violence call for service. Upon arriving, deputies contacted the female adult (victim), who told them she and a male adult (suspect) started arguing on the platform. The suspect then put both his hands on the victim’s neck, choking her, for approximately 3-5 seconds.  The suspect then ran downstairs, toward the west side parking lot.  The victim stated that she never lost consciousness.  Deputy personnel searched the area for the suspect and located him hiding behind a pillar, covered in a blanket.  The suspect was arrested.

Trespassing – Suspect in Custody

TSB Deputies responded to Norwalk Metro Passenger station regarding a Trespassing on Metro property call for service. Deputies arrived and contacted Inter-Con Security, who was already detaining an adult male (Suspect). Inter-Con security stated the suspect was smoking and loitering on the platform.  Inter-Con security ordered the suspect to leave the location, at which time he became irate and, without provocation, brandished a pocketknife and threatened to stab them.  Inter-Con Security used pepper spray on the suspect, causing him to drop the knife.  Inter-Con security was able to detain the suspect pending the arrival of Deputy personnel.  The suspect was arrested.
