Significant Events

March 19, 2025

Suspicious Circumstance (Possible ADW) – Suspects/Victim Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau Deputies responded to the South Pasadena Metro Passenger Station regarding an assault with a deadly weapon that just occurred call for service.  Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the Metro Allied Security Officer (informant), who advised them that he noticed an adult male (possible suspect) following another adult male (possible victim).  The informant stated the two males were verbally arguing, and one of the males was bleeding from one of his hands (no further detail). The informant further stated that both males walked eastbound toward Fair Oaks Avenue and out of view. A search of the area for the suspect and victim was met with negative results.  Deputies did locate a blood trail eastbound from the Metro station toward Fair Oaks Avenue. The suspect/victim are outstanding at this time.

Battery – Suspects Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Willowbrook/Rosa Parks Metro Passenger Station regarding a possible battery call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted three juveniles (victim 1/2/3) who stated they were being followed by two adult males (suspects 1 & 2) from a local skate park.  Both Suspects 1 & 2 harassed the two female victims 1 & 2 by repeatedly asking them out on a date while walking from the park to the train station.  While victims 1 & 2 were on the platform, suspect 1 approached victims 1 & 2 and punched both in the face.  The male victim 3 intervened and suspect 1 and victim 3 got into a brief physical altercation.  Both suspects 1 & 2 left the platform and walked northbound and out of view.  Deputies saw bruises and swellings on the cheeks of victims 1 & 2, as well as an abrasion on the forearm of victim 1.  All the victims declined medical treatment.  The suspects are still outstanding.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to a local hospital in the city of Pasadena regarding an assault with a deadly weapon report call for service.  Upon arrival, Deputies contacted an adult male (victim) who stated he was riding an eastbound train listening to music on his headphones when he was approached by an adult male (suspect) who asked him a question; however, the victim could not hear him.  The victim stated upon asking the suspect what he said, the suspect became angry, and a physical altercation occurred.  The victim said the suspect retrieved a knife from his body, unfolded it, and stabbed him once. 

The suspect exited the train. However, the victim didn’t remember which station, and the victim exited at Sierra Madre Metro Passenger Station.  The victim walked to a closed local clinic and then called 911.  Pasadena Fire Department responded and transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was treated for a non-life-threatening 1″ stab wound to the left armpit area.  The victim described the suspect as an adult male wearing dark clothing.  The suspect is still outstanding.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to a local hospital regarding an assault with a deadly weapon report call for service.  Upon arrival, Deputies contacted an adult male (victim). The victim stated while riding an unknown bus, he was approached by an adult male (suspect) who began a verbal altercation with him because the suspect thought the victim was talking about him.  The victim stated he was on the phone but was not talking about the suspect.  When the victim exited the bus at the Artesia bus layover, the suspect followed him off the bus and attacked him with a baton. 

The suspect struck the victim with the baton on the head and face six or seven times.  The suspect left in an unknown direction.  The victim went home and called 911.  The Long Beach Fire Department transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was treated for a broken jaw and other injuries. The suspect is still outstanding.

Attempt Robbery/ADW – Suspect Arrested/5150 Hold

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the Del Amo Metro Passenger Station regarding a possible assault and battery call for service.  Upon arrival, Deputies contacted Metro Security (victim) along with an adult male (suspect).  Metro Security already detained the suspect in handcuffs.  The victim stated that the suspect approached him, attempted to take his gun, and then grabbed him with both hands. 

The victim, along with the help of his fellow Metro Security Officers, was able to take the suspect to the ground.   During the struggle, the suspect attempted to stab the victim with a pen stating, “I am going to kill you”.   Deputies took custody of the suspect and, with the assistance of the Mental Evaluation Team (TMET), were able to place the suspect on a 5150 WIC hold.  The suspect was transported to a local Hospital for the hold and additionally charged with attempted robbery and assault with a deadly weapon. 

March 16, 2025

Arson – No Suspect Reported

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to a homeless encampment fire at the Marine Metro Passenger Station.  Upon arrival, Deputies observed a tent engulfed in fire. The Redondo Beach Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire.  Deputies contacted an adult female (victim) who stated she was the owner of the tent. The victim stated she was lying inside the tent when she noticed it had caught fire.  The victim was not injured and was able to exit the tent without incident.  The victim said she did not know who started the fire but said she believed it may have been her boyfriend because they argued earlier in the day.  The deputies conducted a search for the boyfriend, but he was not located.  LASD Arson and Explosives was notified but did not respond.  An Arson report was written by responding Deputies.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Firestone Metro Passenger Station regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted an adult female (victim) and an additional adult female (suspect), who were both located on the platform at the Firestone PAX.  Upon detaining the suspect, she became very uncooperative and displayed behavior consistent with someone suffering from a mental disorder.  Utilizing Deescalating techniques, Deputies were able to place the suspect in handcuffs without further incident. During the investigation, it was determined the suspect committed numerous violations, including attempted robbery, ADW, and trespassing. The suspect was arrested and booked.

Bus Vs Pole – No Injuries

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Rexford Dr. and Sunset Blvd. in the city of Beverly Hills regarding a Metro Transit Authority (MTA) bus vs. pole collision call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the Metro Bus Operator, who stated the Metro bus was traveling eastbound on Sunset Blvd., approaching Rexford Dr., when it lost control and struck a signal light. No injuries were reported, and the Metro bus sustained minor damage. The Beverly Hills Police Department responded and will be investigating the accident.

Aggravated Assault – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Memorial Park Metro Passenger Station regarding an assault on a passenger call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted an adult female (victim) who was being treated by the Pasadena Fire Department and preparing for transportation to a local hospital. Deputies were able to speak with the victim before transport, who stated that while riding the Metro train northbound, she became involved in a verbal dispute with an adult female (suspect), which escalated into a physical altercation. During the fight, the suspect bit her on her left hand, causing a 3–5-inch laceration. The suspect was detained by Metro security and subsequently arrested by deputies for aggravated assault.

Traffic Collision Bus Vs. Vehicle – No Injuries

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Tweedy Ave and State St. in the city of Lynwood regarding a vehicle vs Metro Transit Authority (MTA) bus collision call for service.  A Dodge Charger and Chevrolet Suburban collided in the intersection, causing the Suburban to roll over and collide with the Metro bus.  There were approximately 10 passengers onboard the bus.  None of the passengers nor the bus operator were injured.  The Metro bus sustained damage to the front left windshield and pillar. Century Sheriff Station will investigate the traffic collision.

Possession with a Firearm – Suspect Cited

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Avalon Blvd. and El Segundo Bl. in the city of Los Angeles regarding a person in possession with a gun.  Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the Metro bus operator, who stated an adult male (suspect) boarded her bus and cursed at her.  The Bus Operator remembered the suspect from a previous encounter and noticed the suspect holding a gun.  The bus operator notified the dispatch to report the suspect and the incident. Deputy personnel arrived on the scene and cleared the bus of all passengers.  The suspect was detained and later arrested without incident. The suspect was found to be in possession of a toy gun and drug paraphernalia. The suspect was cited for possession of a toy gun and possession of drug paraphernalia. The suspect was also cited for delaying bus operations. 

Robbery (knife) – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Hawthorne Metro Passenger Station regarding a robbery that just occurred call for service. Upon arrival Deputies contacted an adult male (victim) who stated he entered Hawthorne Metro Passenger Station’s east entrance and was approached by an adult male (suspect) who pointed a knife at him and demanded his cell phone. Out of fear for his safety the victim handed over his cell phone and ran away to a nearby Mc. Donalds where he flagged down Hawthorne Police officers.  A search for the suspect was conducted but met with negative results. The suspect is still outstanding.
