January 30, 2025

Grand Theft (Copper Wire) – No Suspect information

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Caroline Avenue in the city of Culver City regarding a grand theft call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the Metro Supervisor, who stated unknown persons stole approximately 30 feet of copper wire cables from the tracks. The suspect(s) also cut the fence to enter the tracks, causing damage to the fence.  The supervisor could not provide a date/time when the copper wire was last seen. The Metro Supervisor was unable to provide any suspect information. The damage and repairs were estimated at $5000.00.

Robbery (Strong Arm) – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Hyde Park Boulevard and Park Avenue in the city of Inglewood regarding a robbery call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted an adult female (victim) who stated that while she was seated on the bus, a male adult (suspect) approached her from behind and grabbed her phone from her hand. After a brief struggle over the phone, the suspect was able to take the phone and ran off the bus. The suspect ran off the bus, and the victim followed the suspect. The suspect then turned toward the victim and threw the phone back at the victim. The victim retrieved her phone, and the suspect ran southbound on Park Avenue and out of view. The suspect is still outstanding.

Grand Theft (Copper Wire) – No Suspect information

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the 17th Street/Santa Monica Metro Passenger Station regarding a vandalism call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the Metro Supervisor, who stated that copper cables located underneath the platform had been taken, causing a power outage on the tracks. The supervisor could not provide a date/time when the copper wire was last seen. No suspect information was provided. The damage and repairs were estimated at $2000.00.

Traffic Collision Bus Vs. Vehicle – Minor Injuries

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to San Fernando Road and West Broadway in the city of Glendale regarding a vehicle vs Metro Transit Authority (MTA) bus collision. Upon arrival, deputies contacted the bus operator, who stated the bus was traveling northbound on San Fernando Road and West Broadway when it was sideswiped by a vehicle.  No injuries were reported.  The MTA Supervisor and the Glendale Police Department responded to the scene.  The bus damages are unknown due to the bus leaving before the Deputy’s arrival. The vehicle sustained substantial damage.  The Glendale Police Department will investigate the traffic collision.

January 27, 2025

Indecent Exposure – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) deputies responded to the Compton Metro Passenger Station regarding an indecent exposure call for service.  Upon the Deputy’s arrival, they contacted an adult female (victim) who stated while traveling southbound on the A-Line train, an adult male (suspect) stood next to her and exposed his erect penis and began masturbating in front of her.  The victim exited the train at Compton Pax and called 911.  While the victim was on the phone with dispatch, the suspect followed the victim and continued to expose himself and masturbate in public view.  Once Deputies arrived, they contacted and detained the suspect. The suspect was arrested.

Robbery – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) deputies responded to Willowbrook Metro Passenger Station regarding a suspicious person call for service. Upon their arrival, they contacted an adult female (victim) who stated while inside an elevator with her friend (witness), an adult male (suspect), pulled out a knife and threatened the victim. The suspect yell at the victim stating, “Where’s my shit at.” Both the victim and the witness exited the elevator, but the suspect followed them. Trying to get away from the suspect, the victim dropped her scooter which had a red “TJ Max” bag, attached to it. The suspect then grabbed the bag and ran back into the elevator and disappeared up the stairs. The suspect took numerous items from the victim. The suspect is still outstanding.

Assault on MTA Security – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) deputies responded to Santa Monica Metro Passenger Station regarding an assault on MTA Intercom security call for service. Upon the Deputies arrival, the contacted MTA intercom security (victim) who stated I was conducting a welfare check on an adult male (suspect) who was sleeping on the train. The suspect woke up, yelled at the victim and subsequently grabbed the victim and pushed him to the ground. The suspect then left the location, however returned shortly after. The suspect was detained by Metro security personnel. The suspect was arrested.
