SHERIFF ATTENDED LUNAR NEW YEAR CELEBRATION
SHERIFF VILLANUEVA ATTENDED A LUNAR NEW YEAR CELEBRATION WITH COUNTY EMPLOYEES,
which included a Lion Dance. The Sheriff, with LASD Chinese-American employees and Various ethnic groups enrich the county of Los Angeles with their diverse culture. This diversity is a strength for our county and help all of us to achieve our mission and successes.
Sheriff Villanueva was invited as an honored guest to the Lunar New Year Celebration hosted by the Chinese Employees Association of the Los Angeles County. Over 400 county employees, joined by the Congresswoman Judy Chu, State Senator Susan Rubio, Ling Ling Chang, County CEO Sachi Hamai and directors from various county departments to appreciate the past and look forward to welcoming a new year.
Sheriff Villanueva encouraged the Chinese-American community to “ask your sons and daughters to join the Sheriff’s Department,” he said, “We’ve got a job for you.” The LASD has always cherish its “melting pot” of blending diverse peoples into one through its core value.
Sheriff Villanueva wished everyone a very happy new year and of course, fed the dancing lion to a peaceful new year!
