Today, Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department’s Hate Crimes Task Force hosted its annual Hate Crime Coordinator Training as part of our ongoing commitment to improving how we recognize, investigate, and prevent hate-motivated crimes across Los Angeles County.
 
We opened the day with welcoming remarks from Chief Jose G. Mendoza, Major Crimes Captain Calvin Mah, and Anne C. Tremblay from the Office of Constitutional Policing, reinforcing our shared commitment to accountability, professionalism, and community safety.
 
Our Hate Crime Coordinators from each station also joined us as we reviewed key updates on Gun Violence Restraining Orders, hate-crime investigations, and current prosecution trends.
 
We also participated in a Hate Crime Prevention & Community Resilience Panel featuring:
