LASD remains steadfast in its commitment to eliminating stigma, providing support, promoting public education, and creating an environment that prioritizes the welfare of individuals and families impacted by mental illness.
Did you know that our Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Mental Evaluation Team was established in 1991 in conjunction with the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health? MET provides compassionate field intervention and appropriate placement in situations involving Sheriff’s Deputy contact with citizens suffering from mental health disorders or suspected mental illness throughout the County of Los Angeles.
The Department of Mental Health 24/7 Access Line (800) 854-7771 is a service available to all of Los Angeles County which can provide outpatient mental health clinic resources.
