Contract towing and Storage Facility

Dear Prospective Contract Towing and Storage Facility,

Over the past 12 months, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has made changes to the vehicle towing and storage facility contract approval process. These changes were necessary and will help us greatly during the decision making process when selecting vehicle towing and storage facility contracts.

Effective immediately, all vehicle towing and storage facility owners, and their employees, requesting a contract with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, shall be Live Scanned (fingerprinted) prior to contract approval. The Live Scan process shall be at the expense of the requesting vehicle towing and storage facility.

All vehicle towing and storage facilities currently contracted with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department will be required to re-apply three months prior to their contract expiration date. The application process shall include the Live Scan procedure for all facility employees.

Attached you will find:

- Memorandum explaining disqualification factors
- Copy of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Vehicle Towing and Storage Facility Personnel Information Form. THIS FORM SHALL BE COMPLETED BY ALL EMPLOYEES.
- Copy of Request for Live Scan Service form. The Live Scan Service form shall be completed and taken to an authorized Live Scan service location
