Established in 1958 as a select group of personnel performing crime suppression and civil disorder missions, the Special Enforcement Detail began to configure anti-sniper teams in 1966, and steadily increased in size and mission capability to become the Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) in February 1967. From its inception, SEB personnel have continued to build upon a foundation of excellence. The Bureau is recognized worldwide as a premier law enforcement tactical unit.
The primary goal of the Special Enforcement Bureau is to solve potentially dangerous situations through experience, training and the use of highly specialized tools and equipment.
The Special Enforcement Bureau currently consists of three Details that perform individual missions on a day to day basis, but come together during tactical operations as integral parts of a unique and highly effective tactical team structure.
